In June 2008, the Symphony celebrated the end of
the Fanfare for the Future endowment campaign
with a gala evening including a concert, a reception to
meet the artists, a black tie (optional) dinner, and the
auction of the violins by auctioneer James Godfrey, formerly
of Sotheby's. The ART STRINGS Gala was held at the
Abbott Center, Darden School, University of Virginia.
