Charlottesville Symphony Society

The Charlottesville Symphony Society exists to support the Charlottesville & University Symphony Orchestra in bringing quality music to the community. This non-profit corporation is directed by a board of local citizens selected from its membership, which is open to everyone through an annual contribution of $100 or more. The Society is a member of the League of American Orchestras, the Piedmont Council of the Arts, and the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce, and is committed to establishing the Charlottesville and University Symphony Orchestra as a model for America's small orchestras.

The Charlottesville Symphony Society exists, in collaboration with the McIntire Department of Music, to support the Charlottesville & University Symphony Orchestra. It is committed to helping the University provide performance opportunities for students and principal players, competitive compensation and benefits for the principals, and the highest quality classical music to the Charlottesville area community.

Members of the Charlottesville Symphony Society (donors of $100 or more) may attend its Annual Meeting held every May. Please call the orchestra office at (434) 924-6505 for further information.
