Youth Concerts
Close Encounters of the Orchestral Kind
Our popular annual event is especially designed for 4th and 5th grade students. This year’s program, Close Encounters of the Orchestral Kind, tells the story of Alvin the Alien who falls out of the Big Dipper and lands in Old Cabell Hall, encountering an orchestra for the first time. This concert is sponsored by The Bama Works Fund in the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation (CACF), the Mr. and Mrs. James L. Brown Fund for Youth Concerts and Bailey Printing, Inc.
Performances
Performances are at Old Cabell Hall at 8:00 p.m. on Saturdays and on Friday, October 1 and at Monticello High School Auditorium at 3:30 p.m. on Sundays.
